A trecut destul de mult timp de la ultima postare pe blog, multe lucruri s-au schimbat, începând cu...anul. Supriza mea de 2012 vine puţin mai târziu, dar mai bine acum decât niciodată. Şi anume, un mini-interviu cu David Collins. Pentru cei care nu-l cunosc după nume sigur vor zâmbi când voi spune "The umbilical brothers". Celebrul duo australian care a făcut furori cu spectacole ca Speedmouse, Don't Explain, sketch-uri şi seria The threatening bears. David Collins şi-a făcut timp intre spectacole şi mi-a răspuns la câteva întrebări. Enjoy:Alexandra: For a spectator, your performances are an extremely well-studied form of physical comedy. How much do you improvise on stage?
David Collins: There are parts of the show which are improvised. Depending on how we are feeling on the night, and how the audience are, these parts can be very large, or quite small. Last night in Denmark our one hour and a half show was 2 hours. That's 30 minutes of improvising, which means we were REALLY enjoying ourselves. Which in turn means the audience was as well.
A.: Did you ever meet the real Arnold Schwarzenegger? If no, what do you think would be his first words?
D.C.: No, we have never met Arnie. My guess is his first words to us would be "Ged Owd".
A.: What are worse: cats, Roadie, the oncoming truck or Yoda?
D.C: Roadie, Cats, Oncoming truck and Yoda. In that order.
A..: There always seems to be a competition between you and Shane. Is it real or just an act?
D.C.: In all the great comedy duos there has been competition of some sort. Whether it be personal or from an outside force. It changes from show to show, but usually it's from an outside force for us.
A..: Name a book/movie/band that you like and tell us why.
D.C.: I tend to sway toward comedies. I guess it is just my nature. A happy heart is a happy soul. Life seems so much easier when you laugh.
A.: If you would guide a young actor with one word, which word would it be?
D.C.: That's easy. Create. If you can create your own work you will always have it. The day I wake up and don't feel like creating is the day I would like to die.
David Collins şi Shane Dundas s-au întâlnit pentru prima dată în 1988, la University of Western Sydney, unde studiau actoria. În 1990, formează duo-ul The umbilical Brothers, iar spectacolele lor (Speedmouse, Don't explain, Heaven by storm, Thwak, The rehearsal etc) câştigă notorietate internaţională.
